WSHS adopting Flex Period Bell Schedule
WSHS is excited to announce it will be implementing a new bell schedule with rotating "Flex Periods" starting with the 2015-16 school year this fall. The change is a result of a multi-year process that incorporated input from teachers, students, and parents and is designed to build time into the school day to better meet the needs of all students. Similar programs are already implmented in several other PWCS high schools with positive results. For more specific information, please consult these documents: Bell Schedule, tentative Flex Calendar, and FAQs/Additional Information.

Sports Concussion Education Training
All middle and high school student athletes and their parent/guardian are required to complete an annual Concussion Training according to Prince William County Public School Policy 759. As there are sufficient differences in the way concussions will be handled at the middle school and high school levels, a parent having children in both middle and high schools are required to attend both a middle and a high school presentation. Students and their parent/guardian have two ways to receive this concussion training.
1.) Face to Face Training:
High school parents and students who are entering 9th grade and trying out for a sport for their first time in high school or are new to Prince William County Public schools must attend a face to face concussion training at their respective school. If you are unable to attend a scheduled Face-to-Face Concussion Training, the parent and student have the option to complete an online presentation for the first time participant as a high school student. This option will not be available mid-July, 2015. Click here for the face to face meeting schedule.
2. Online training for returning high school students (those who have attended a HS face to face training) will be available after June 20, 2015. The parent and student are to complete the training together if completing either of the online training.  A completion certificate is printed out, signed by the parent, and turned in to the athletic trainer (or secretary at school). Start the online training.
