Governor's Challenge Winners!

Congratulations Woodbridge High School, 1st Place winners in the Personal Finance Division of the Governor's Challenge! Woodbridge Senior High School was awarded first place (STATE CHAMPIONS) and will go on to Kansas City, Missouri to compete in the National Personal Finance Challenge on May 22, 2015 at the Federal Reserve Building in Kansas City.

 

WSHS Prom 2015

WSHS Prom 2015: Sail Away with Me, is scheduled for Friday, May 1, 2015.  Prom is held at Harbour View Events Center in Woodbridge, Virginia from 7:00PM - 11:00PM.  Prom is open to WSHS Juniors and Seniors, and their guests.  All students wishing to attend must pre-purchase a ticket as they will not be sold at the event.  
Prom Dance Agreement Forms were distributed in 11th and 12th grade English classes on April 8/9.  These dance agreement forms must be stamped by the library and Mrs. Koca to note all school obligations are cleared.  Stamps are available until April 20.  If a Junior or Senior would like to attend with an Outside Guest, the following requirements are in place.  The Outside Guest must younger than 21 and be pre-approved.  To register an Outside Guest for approval, sign up the guest at the Security Desk before April 17th and pick up a GREEN Dance Agreement Form.  The guests must be approved prior to ticket sales.  You may check with Security to determine if your guest was approved.  The Outside Guest ticket must be purchased with your ticket, and you need both your and their completed Dance Agreement Forms and money during the purchase.

To purchase tickets, students must have their completed, signed and stamped, Dance Agreement Form and money with them.  Tickets will be sold during lunches in the upper lobby.  Tickets are $40/ticket on April 22-24, and $50/ticket on April 27-28. 

Victor O'Neill Studios will be taking formal prom portraits throughout the duration of Prom.   The package is $25.00 and includes two (2) 5x7 prints and a digital copy of your image on CD.  Portraits will be printed onsite and will be available for you to take home the night of your prom.  Please visit vosphoto.com for more information and to optionally pre-pay.​

WSHS AP Testing Calendar

Woodbridge High School Advanced Placement students will begin their two-week AP testing session on Monday, May 4, 2015.  These tests are required for all students currently in Advanced Placement classes, and all Advanced Placement students understand that they will be present and on time for their scheduled tests.  Our AP teachers have been working with the students all year to prepare them for this very rigorous testing session.  If you have any questions regarding AP testing, please contact Debbie Floris at florisdl@pwcs.edu.  Click here for a copy of the schedule

SOL Testing Calendar & Bell Schedules for May 2015
End of Course SOL testing will run May 5 through May 22. Students currently enrolled in an SOL course will test during that class period. In keeping with our testing process, bell schedules will be adjusted to account for the testing periods. The testing calendar with daily bell schedules can be downloaded by clicking here.
It is imperative that students arrive prepared and on-time during SOL testing. Quality sleep and a good breakfast are important. Make up testing will occur throughout the testing window and May 26-27. Expedited Retakes for students scoring 375-399 on their first attempt will occur June 1 – June 5. Also, please remember that cell phones, electronic devices, backpacks or other personal belongings are NOT permitted in the testing sites. Students must leave all prohibited items in lockers before reporting to the testing site.

Yearbook Information

The LAST CHANCE to guarantee that you get a yearbook is Saturday, April 18th.  After this date, no yearbooks will be sold until after all preordered books are distributed in June, and then in only very limited quantities.  We expect to sell out again, as we have for the last five years!  To order your book, click on the link below.  If you have any questions, contact Mrs. LaPlant at laplantk@pwcs.edu

Graduation Class of 2015
 
Graduation for the Class of 2015 will take place on Saturday June 13th, 2015. The commencement ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00am in the A.T. Howard Memorial stadium on campus.

 
Sports Concussion Education Training
All middle and high school student athletes and their parent/guardian are required to complete an annual Concussion Training according to Prince William County Public School Policy 759. As there are sufficient differences in the way concussions will be handled at the middle school and high school levels, a parent having children in both middle and high schools are required to attend both a middle and a high school presentation. Students and their parent/guardian have two ways to receive this concussion training. 1.)Face to Face Training- High school parents and students who are entering 9th grade and trying out for a sport for their first time in high school or are new to Prince William County Public schools must attend a face to face concussion training at their respective school. Click here for the face to face meeting schedule. 2.)Online training- Beginning June 22, 2014, parents and students who have already attended a face-to-face training may take this year’s mandatory concussion training online. Rising 6th grade and 9th grade students and students new to Prince William County Public Schools are not eligible for the Online Training. Start the online training.
